ARCHITECT: BRET THURSTON (2011)
Wellington's Lobster Loos in the Kumutoto public space on Queens Wharf are a tourist attraction in themselves.
These public unisex restroom structures represent the winning design of 28 entries in a contest put on by the city.
A great controversy arose soon after the announced tax-payer financed construction cost was announced as $375,000.
I've got to admit that the structures are interesting... at least from three sides.
The fourth side, the entry side, seems to lack any sort of originality or interest compared to the others.
